Braces

Millions of patients worldwide have benefited from braces. Braces are effective for patients of all ages. We invite you to take the next step toward the goals you have for your smile by contacting our team and scheduling a consultation with our experienced dentists at Drs. Toenjes, Brizzee and Orme - Cosmetic and Family Dentistry. Drs. Toenjes, Brizzee and Orme are General Dentists who have completed training on orthodontics. Call today to learn more about braces!

Braces are an orthodontic treatment option that can help you achieve a smile that is straighter and healthier. One of the most common orthodontic treatments available, braces work to improve your smile by gradually, gently realigning your teeth. Braces consist of a system of metal brackets, wires and bands. The brackets are attached to the front of your teeth and are connected to each other through the use of a metal wire and bands. As we adjust the wire, the braces guide your teeth to their ideal positions in your smile. Ceramic braces are also often available, which are the same color as your teeth for a more discreet orthodontic option.

If you have ever wanted your smile to be straighter and more attractive, braces may be right for you. With braces, we are able to correct orthodontic issues such as:
  • Crowded teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
Problems with the bite, including crossbite, open bite, underbite and overbite
During your treatment, you will visit our office on a regular basis so we can make sure that your braces are adjusted as needed to continue progressing toward a straighter, healthier smile. Our skilled dentists and team will help you reach all of your oral health and appearance goals through personalized, high-quality care. To learn more about braces, please contact our office today.

ClearCorrect

If you want to achieve a beautiful, straight smile but do not want to deal the hassle of traditional braces, our dentists may recommend that you consider ClearCorrect. ClearCorrect is an innovative orthodontic program that can help you achieve the smile you desire without metal wires and brackets. ClearCorrect is lifestyle friendly and enhances your smile quickly. Call today to schedule an appointment with Dr. John Toenjes, Dr. Gabe Brizzee and Dr. Drostan Orme to learn more about ClearCorrect.

ClearCorrect is a modern orthodontic treatment solution that uses clear aligners to correct the alignment of your teeth. ClearCorrect clear aligners are custom created using advanced computer technology. Each set of aligners is specifically designed to make precise, calibrated adjustments to the alignment of your teeth. As you switch sets of aligners every few weeks, your smile will be gradually guided into its ideal position. You will also visit our dentists on a regular basis so we can make certain that your aligners are correctly adjusting your smile.

Our dentists may recommend ClearCorrect aligners for your smile if you are looking to correct teeth that are crooked, crowded or gapped. ClearCorrect aligners make orthodontic treatment simple; the aligners are easily removable, so you can take them out to eat, floss and brush your teeth. This makes it simple to maintain good oral hygiene while straightening your teeth. Because ClearCorrect invisible aligners are made from smooth, transparent plastic, they are both comfortable and discreet.

For more information about ClearCorrect and to schedule your personalized orthodontic consultation at our office, we invite you to call or visit our office today. We look forward to helping you achieve a straighter, healthier, more attractive smile!

Early Orthodontics

Receiving appropriate orthodontic services early in life can prevent the need for more extensive correction later on. Dr. John Toenjes, Dr. Gabe Brizzee and Dr. Drostan Orme are pleased to feature early orthodontics to help you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. Give our team a call today to learn more about us and schedule your next appointment with our caring dentists!

The childhood and teenage years are a great time for orthodontic treatment. The American Association of Orthodontists® recommends that a child receive their first orthodontic screening by age 7, and we encourage you to bring your child to our office by this age to evaluate their need for orthodontic treatment. When we are able to start treatment early, we can often detect and correct potential problems before they become more serious. This can help save time as well as money.

Early orthodontic treatment is advantageous because a young child’s teeth have not finished erupting; this allows us to guide their eruption and address any problems at the earliest possible stage. Whether your child needs removable or fixed appliances, early orthodontic treatment can help to:
  • Provide more room for crowded erupting teeth
  • Preserve space for teeth that have not yet erupted
  • Create facial symmetry by guiding jaw growth
  • Reduce the possible need for tooth extraction
  • Reduce the overall treatment time
When you bring your child to our practice, our dentists will be able to determine whether treatment is needed and when it should begin. If early orthodontic treatment is needed, we will create a personalized treatment plan for optimal results. For more information and to set up your child’s orthodontic consultation at our office, we invite you to call or visit us today! We have offices in St. Anthony and Ashton, ID.

Retainers

After you achieve a straight smile with orthodontic correction, our dentists will recommend that you preserve that smile with a dental retainer. We are pleased to provide customized retainers that are both effective and comfortable. If you need a retainer in St. Anthony and Ashton, Idaho, please contact our office and schedule an appointment with Dr. John Toenjes, Dr. Gabe Brizzee and Dr. Drostan Orme today!

A retainer is a custom-made oral appliance often used to maintain the alignment of your teeth after orthodontic treatment. If you have finished your orthodontic treatment, our dentists may recommend a retainer to keep your smile properly aligned. As you age, your teeth tend to shift; the retainer ensures that your teeth remain in correct alignment for optimal oral health, functionality and appearance. There are three main types of retainers available:
  • Hawley retainers consist of wires and clasps embedded in a plastic body that covers the roof of the mouth (for the upper arch) or lies along the tongue-side of the teeth (for the lower arch). The clasps fit around certain teeth to anchor the retainer in place, while the wire arches across the front of the teeth to maintain their alignment.
  • Clear retainers are made of clear plastic and fit snugly over the teeth. A clear retainer is usually more discreet than a Hawley retainer, although it may not be as durable.
  • Fixed retainers, also called bonded or permanent retainers, are permanently attached to the backside of the front teeth. They prevent the teeth from shifting out of place and can only be removed by a dental professional.
Our dentists will help you determine whether you need a retainer after your orthodontic treatment. For more information, we welcome you to call us today!
