If you have recently restored your oral health with a dental implant in St. Anthony, Idaho, then it’s important to start caring for it right away!

Caring for a dental implant is easy and simple. All you need to do is care for it just like you would care for your natural teeth. You need to:

-Brush: Brush your teeth every morning and every night with a soft-bristled toothbrush. It’s also recommended to brush with fluoride toothpaste. Make sure to brush for two minutes each time and thoroughly scrub each tooth, especially the implant.

-Floss: Floss your smile once a day with a flossing tool of your choice. You can floss with dental floss, a water flosser, or another product. Make sure you floss between each tooth so you can remove as much plaque as possible.

-Rinse: Rinse your mouth daily with antibacterial mouthwash. Doing so will kill the bacteria and plaque in you mouth, complete the smile-cleaning job, and improve your breath.

-Visit your dentist: Make sure you visit your dentist every six months for a routine cleaning and checkup. These appointments are vital if you want a strong and successful implant because they include the only treatment that can completely remove the plaque from your teeth. The exams can also give your dentist the opportunity to check and make sure the dental implant is in tip-top shape.

If you do these four things, your dental implant will remain in tip-top shape and it’ll last a lifetime.
